Paid Quarantine Leave Bill Passes VA House of Delegates
The Virginians for Paid Sick Days Coalition released the following statement regarding today’s passage of the Paid Quarantine Leave bill (HB 5116) bill sponsored by Delegate Elizabeth Guzman (D, 31st).
“Thank you to Delegate Guzman and Speaker Filler-Corn for leading the way to House passage of this paid quarantine leave bill,” said Kim Bobo, executive director of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, a member of the coalition.
“The passage of this bill shows that Virginia leaders can come together to take action on paid quarantine days that will keep workers healthy and keep our economy open during Coronavirus. This bill is a key first step in the effort to ensure that every Virginia worker has paid sick days. We look forward to the Senate voting on this bill to protect Virginia’s economy and workers.”
